Monday Must Have - Wet Brush

This weeks Monday Must Have is the Wet Brush. I have been using this brush for about a year, before using this I always detangled my hair with a wide tooth comb. The wet brush works great on my very thick, naturally curly, long hair. I use it when I get out of the shower to detangle. It does a great job without causing breakage. I highly recommend trying this if you have not already. They are a great price and a must have especially if you have long or thick hair. Let me know if you try one.

Fashion Favorites of 2014

I love everything about fashion. I love putting together outfits in new ways. I love adding a new accessory to completely change a look. I love how you can put stilettos with jeans for a night out or flip flops for a day in the mountains. These are a few of my favorites from the year. I could talk about fashion all day I have narrowed it down to a few of my staples.

1. JCrew Factory GiGi Pants. These pants are amazing. They have a fit like a legging, but they are thick like a pant. The look great with tall boots or high heels. I hope to wear them this summer with flats or sandals. I definitely recommend getting a pair of these pants.

2.  Toms. I bought my first pair of Toms this year, then after I got them, I bought my second pair of Toms. I plan in the Spring to buy my third pair of Toms. I love these shoes. They look really cute with skinny jeans or shorts. I tend to wear them a lot with yoga pants on casual days. I also wear them to the baseball field in the spring most weekends.

3.  Denim Vest. I finally found a denim vest that I liked this year. I wear them mainly with maxi dresses and sleeveless shirts. I feel they make maxi dress more office appropriate. They also add some style to a sleeveless shirt and khakis. I linked to one on Amazon that is similar to the one I purchased from Old Navy.

4. Maxi Dress. I wore maxi dresses almost everyday this spring and summer. They are so comfortable and so easy. They can be dressed up with a scarf or jewelry or just worn casual. I am sure everyone loves them as much as I do. I do wish they were not always so long. It is hard to find them to fit me.

4.  Tall Boots. I love my riding boots in the fall and winter. These are not new to my wardrobe, but I do feel they are a fashion favorite of the year. They look great with dresses, skinny jeans, and leggings. I love to wear them with boot socks or leg warmers. They are a must for every wardrobe.

5. Scarves. My must have for every season is scarves. They add something extra to any outfit. I often wearing a t-shirt and jeans with a nice scarf. I also love to wear maxi dresses with a scarf and denim vest or jacket.

Women's Floral Gauze Scarves

6. Stilettos. I could not honor my blog name without having stilettos as a fashion favorite. These have been my favorite since I could walk. There is something about a good pair of stilettos that make you feel good about yourself.  I especially love nude heels.

These are my fashion favorites for 2014. It was hard to narrow it down because I love all fashion so much, but these are my wardrobe must haves. Thanks for reading let me know your must haves.

August Favorites

August Favorites

My favorites for the month of August are some new and old favorites. First, Bobbi Brown BB Cream has been a favorite of mine for the last year. I have bought many tubes and will continue to buy tubes of it. It is the best BB Cream I have found yet. Another one of my favorites is the Express flare blue jeans. I have not had a new pair of flare style jeans in  awhile. My husband bought me a new pair for my birthday and I am in love. They are so comfortable and look great with a pair of heels. Maybelline Age Rewind is another old favorite. I have loved this concealer since it came out and will continue to buy it. A new favorite of mine this month is Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's is new to my area, and I am so excited we finally got one. It is amazing and has wonderful prices. Next, a favorite of mine this month is baseball. The fall ball season has started and I love spending the weekends at the ball field watching my favorite little player. My last favorite is The Body Shop's hand cream. It is amazing. I keep one of the tubes in my desk at work and on my nightstand. Let me know what your favorites are this month.

What to Eat Wednesday - Enchiladas

This week for What to Eat Wednesday I am making "white girl" enchiladas. I adapted the recipe from one I found on Pinterest. I hesitated calling these "white girl" enchiladas then I realized after making them my Hispanic mother-in-law would definitely say these were not "real" enchiladas. However, they tasted very good and were easy to make.

Ingredients
1/4c Milk
8oz Cream Cheese
1/4-1/2c Mayo
1c Salsa
Bag of Mexican Blend Cheese
2 Cans Shredded Chicken
1 Can Green Chilies
1tbl of Chili Powder
Tortillas
Jalapenos
Sour Cream

Preheat the oven to 350. Mix the milk, cream cheese, mayo, salsa, a handful of the shredded cheese, and 3/4 of the can of green chilies in a pot and melt all ingredients together. While those ingredients are melting mix the shredded chicken, a handful of the cheese, the chili powder, and the rest of the green chilies in a bowl. When the cheese mixture in melted, add a ladle full to the chicken mixture also.

When you have everything mixed together add a ladle full of the cheese mixture to the bottom of a greased baking dish.

Next, put some of the chicken mixture in a tortilla roll it up and place in the dish. Keep doing this until the dish is full. Top with the rest of the cheese mixture, the rest of the shredded cheese, and some jalapeno.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until everything is melted together.

You are finished. Serve with sour cream. Let me know if you try it!!

Fall Fashion Essentials

Fall Fashion Essentials

Fall is once again upon us......I like fall for many reasons from the start of football season to the crispness in the air, but I love fall fashion. I love the first day I get to wear my tall boots. I love the feeling of a warm scarf and cardigan by a fire on a fall night. I am going to tell all of you my fall essentials and would love to here all of yours.

My fall fashion bottom essentials are leggings, dark skinny jeans, and a pair of distressed jeans. Leggings are a fashion staple you can wear them casual or dress them up. You can wear them with boots, Uggs, or flats. Just please do not wear them as pants!! My next bottom essential is jeans. My favorites are dark skinnies and distressed. I enjoy wearing distressed jeans on casual days and my dark skinnies are great for nights out.

My fall fashion shoe essentials are riding boots and Uggs. Whether you love or hate Uggs, they are the most comfortable shoes on the planet. I suggest everyone have a pair even you wear them around the house. The riding boots are great with skinny jeans, leggings, and sweater dresses.

My fall fashion top essential is tunics. I love all tunics from denim to pikos. They look great with leggings and skinny jeans. They can be dressed up with a scarf or statement necklace. They are easy and comfortable, but look like you tried to put an outfit together.

Another fall fashion essential is cardigans. I love them in every color and style. They can be wore year round, but they are perfect in the transition between summer and winter. I love a bright colored cardigan with an all black outfit or a leopard cardigan to make a statement.

Scarves are good year round also, but they are a must in the fall. There is nothing cuter than a big chunky scarf with some skinny jeans and boots. They are the only accessory you will need.

Last fall fashion essential I have is earrings. I never leave the house without my earrings. I love them in the fall because they are perfect with a big scarf and big sunglasses. They are a must have this season.

I hope you all enjoyed my fall fashion essentials, let me know what your must haves are in the comments below.

What to Eat Wednesday - Tacos

This weeks What to Eat Wednesday is Tacos. We have tacos as often as once a week in my house. They are an easy go to meal that everyone enjoys. We always have enough leftovers to make a taco pizza a couple of nights later, which I love getting two meals in one.  I hope you enjoy my twist on tacos. Let me know if you try them.

Ingredients
One pack Trader Joes taco seasoning
Taco Shells
Hamburger Meat
Black Beans
Cheese

Extras
Jalapenos
Cilantro
Fresh Salsa (recipe soon)
Jalapeno Dip (recipe soon)
Sour Cream
Lime
Texas Pete

Heat your oven to 450. Then, brown your hamburger meat over medium heat. While the meat is cooking I wash and drain my black beans. When the meat is brown drain off all the grease. A quick tip to drain hamburger is to save your paper bags and use for liners to absorb the grease. Put your hamburger and black beans in the pan with the taco seasoning.

Add about half a cup of water. Let the seasoning, meat, and black beans simmer with the water until it thickens a little. Next, take your taco shells and add the mixture in each one of them. Put however much cheese you want on top of each shell and put them in the oven until the cheese melts (about five minutes).

When the tacos come out they are ready to enjoy! Add what ever extras you want!

Monday Must Haves

My Monday Must Have this week is Maybelline Instant Age Rewind. This is my favorite concealer/eye brightener at the current time. It is very wallet friendly and works as well as high end brands. It instantly highlights the dark parts under the eye without settling into fine lines. I recommend if you have not tried this concealer go to your favorite drug store and get one today. It ranges in price from $6.00-$9.00, but you can always find coupons to get an even better deal.
